Frequently Asked Questions About Selling Your Vehicle

Clear answers about quotes, pricing, paperwork, towing and payment across Edmonton and the Capital Region.

Selling a junk or damaged car raises questions, especially the first time. If your question is not here, call (780) 236-0089.

Getting a Quote

How do I get a quote for my vehicle?

Call (780) 236-0089 or fill out the quote form on our contact page. Tell us the year, make, model, approximate kilometres, condition and location. Most quotes take a few minutes.

Is the quote free? Do I have to accept it?

Quotes are free, with no obligation to accept.

Will the price change when you arrive?

Not if the vehicle matches your description. If something material is different, our driver explains the change before loading and you decide whether to proceed.

Do you need photos?

Photos are optional, but help us price damaged vehicles quickly and accurately.

Pricing

How much is my junk car worth?

Value depends on weight, make, model, usable parts, the original catalytic converter and current metal prices. Trucks, SUVs and vans often earn more than small cars.

Why don't you list prices on your website?

Vehicles differ and metal prices change. A quote based on your actual vehicle is more accurate than a fixed list.

Does a running car get a better price?

Usually yes. A running vehicle typically retains more parts value.

Does the catalytic converter really matter?

Yes. Its precious metals add value. Tell us if the original converter is missing.

Vehicles We Buy

What kinds of vehicles do you buy?

Cars, SUVs, minivans, cargo vans and pickups up to one-ton dually, including work trucks and diesels. We buy running, non-running, damaged and partly stripped vehicles.

Do you buy vehicles that don't run?

Yes. Many vehicles we buy do not run.

Do you buy hybrids and electric vehicles?

Yes. Mention the powertrain when requesting a quote so we can plan the pickup.

Is there anything you don't buy?

We do not buy farm machinery, trailers, boats, heavy equipment or vehicles carrying hazardous materials. Ask us if you are unsure.

Pickup and Towing

Is towing really free?

Yes, with every vehicle we buy. Nothing is deducted from the agreed offer for towing.

How fast can you pick up my vehicle?

Often the same day in Edmonton when you contact us early, and usually within one to two days. Farther communities are scheduled in advance.

Can you tow a car without keys?

Yes, if you can prove ownership with registration and photo ID.

Can you pick up from an underground parkade, a back lane or an acreage?

In most cases. Tell us about parkade clearance, gates, soft ground and other access constraints when booking.

Do I need to be there at pickup?

Usually. The owner or an authorized person needs to show ID, sign the bill of sale and receive payment.

Paperwork

What do I need to sell my vehicle?

Vehicle registration and government-issued photo ID with a matching name. We bring the bill of sale.

I lost my registration. Can I still sell?

Often. An Alberta registry agent can usually provide a copy. Call us before booking.

What do I do with my licence plate?

Remove it before pickup. Alberta plates stay with the owner; transfer it or cancel the registration at a registry agent.

Can I sell a car that isn't in my name?

Only with appropriate written owner authorization, a power of attorney covering the sale or estate documents.

Can I sell a vehicle that still has a loan on it?

The loan must be paid out and the lien released before ownership transfers. Tell us about it up front.

Can I sell a leased vehicle?

Not directly. Contact the leasing company, which owns the vehicle, about a buyout.

Payment

When do I get paid?

At pickup, before the vehicle is loaded.

How will I be paid?

By cash or e-transfer, confirmed when we book your pickup.

Insurance, Write-Offs and Hail

Can I sell a vehicle my insurer wrote off?

Yes, if you still own it or bought it back. Tell us whether its status is salvage or non-repairable.

Do you buy hail damaged cars?

Yes, including cars with dents, broken glass and salvage status.

What should I do with my insurance after selling?

Call your insurer to cancel the policy or move coverage to another vehicle.

Recycling and the Environment

What happens to my vehicle after pickup?

It goes to a licensed recycler. Fluids and refrigerant are recovered, batteries and tires are recycled, reusable parts are sold, and remaining metal is processed.

Should I drain the fluids or remove the battery first?

No. Leave the vehicle as it is; the recycler handles these safely.

Businesses and Multiple Vehicles

Can you buy several vehicles at once?

Yes. Send a list and we can quote and schedule them together.

Do you buy company and fleet vehicles?

Yes. Registration must match the business and the signer must be authorized. We provide a bill of sale for each vehicle and a receipt or invoice.
