Effective date: November 4, 2026
Cash 4 Junk Vehicles (“we,” “us” or “our”) buys and removes vehicles in Edmonton and surrounding Alberta communities and operates cash4junkvehicles.ca. This policy explains our collection, use and sharing of personal information and your choices and rights. We handle information in line with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other applicable laws.
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy applies when you visit our website, request a quote by phone, text, email or form, book a pickup, sell us a vehicle, or otherwise contact us. Personal information means information about an identifiable individual. It excludes anonymous information and business contact details used only for work communication.
2. Information We Collect
You may give us contact and pickup details; vehicle year, make, model, VIN, kilometres, condition, damage, registry status and photos; registration and photo ID details; authorization, estate or lien documents when needed; sale price, date, signatures and payment details; and messages or call notes.
Our website may collect IP address, browser and device details, approximate location, pages viewed, links clicked, referral source and cookies or similar technology.
3. Why We Collect and Use Information
We use information to prepare quotes, arrange pickups, confirm ownership and authority, prevent fraud, complete the bill of sale and payment, keep accounting and tax records, answer questions, operate and secure the website, send service messages and meet legal obligations. We will tell you about a new purpose and obtain consent where required.
4. Consent
By giving us information to quote or buy a vehicle, you consent to its use and disclosure for the purposes described here. Consent may be implied where allowed, such as giving us a number for a callback. You may withdraw consent by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits. Withdrawal may prevent us from completing a quote or purchase; records required by law remain.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent personal information. Pickup staff or contractors receive details needed to collect a vehicle. Licensed recyclers and parts buyers may receive vehicle details and ownership records needed for lawful processing. Hosting, form, email, phone, payment, accounting and analytics providers may process information only to serve us. We may disclose information for lawful police, court or government requests, safety, rights protection, or a business sale or reorganization with continued protection.
6. Service Providers Outside Canada
Website, email, analytics or cloud providers may process data outside Canada, including the United States, where local laws may permit access by authorities. Contact us to ask about our practices for providers outside Canada.
7. Cookies and Analytics
Cookies may help the site and form work, remember preferences and measure traffic. Advertising tools may measure quote requests. You can block or delete cookies and use browser or provider opt-out settings; some features may then work differently.
8. Calls, Texts and Emails
We use your contact details to respond and send quote or pickup messages. Promotional messages are sent only with consent required by Canadian anti-spam law and include an unsubscribe method. Reply STOP to a promotional text or contact us to opt out.
9. How We Protect Information
We limit access to people who need the information, secure paper records, use passwords and access controls for electronic records, and use HTTPS on the website. No transmission or storage method is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps against loss, theft and unauthorized access or disclosure.
10. Privacy Breaches
If a breach involving information under our control creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta and affected individuals as required by law.
11. How Long We Keep Information
We keep information only as long as necessary for these purposes or required by law. Purchase records are retained for legal, accounting and tax needs. Unsuccessful quote requests are kept for a shorter period, then deleted or anonymized. We securely destroy or anonymize information when no longer needed.
12. Your Rights: Access and Correction
You may request access to personal information we hold or correction of inaccurate or incomplete details by writing to us. We may verify your identity. We respond within the time required by Alberta PIPA, generally 45 days. If access is restricted, we explain why where permitted. We will give an estimate before charging any reasonable access fee.
13. Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect children’s information through the site. A vehicle registered to a minor must be sold with a parent or guardian involved.
